RECOGNIZED BY THE TDSB

The Toronto District and Peel Region school boards recognize the Varsity Training Centre - High Performer Program as a sanctioned hockey program for both players and goalies in all aspects of their sport.

SPECIALIZED PROGRAM

This specialized program accommodates the Student/Athlete to complete their education within a consolidated school schedule.

Our experienced TEAM Shutout Goalie School coaches are excited to continue our involvement in delivering the goalie development component of this great development program for the upcoming 2019/20 school year.

TEAM SHUTOUT TRAINING PROGRAM

The strength of the TEAM Shutout program is in a training approach that is founded on a Profile Based Development Philosophy that will ensure the sustainable development of the young athlete’s goalie skills.

Our strong training syllabus is delivered by an experienced staff within a small group-learning environment and will promote the disciplined preparation that will forge the athlete’s confidence needed for improvement.

TRAINING SYLLABUS HIGHLIGHTS

On-Ice Goalie Specific Training

The goalie specific training will be delivered Monday through Thursday from the Team Shutout Goalie School lesson plans, which will progress the goalie skills in areas such as Technical and Tactical Execution in order to sustainably improve performance.

Combined Player & Goalie Training

Players & Goalies will be scheduled throughout each week’s lesson plan to be incorporated into on-ice joint training drills Players & Goalie will be scheduled each day to receive Off-Ice training that will progress and develop the Balance, Acceleration, Agility and Stamina needed to better execute on the ice. Players and Goalies will periodically receive a one-on-one and group classroom feedback sessions.

A TYPICAL DAY AT VTC-HP PROGRAM

  • 8:00am > Students Arrive At Varsity Training Centre
  • 8:30 – 11:00am > On-Ice & Off-Ice Training Sessions
  • 11:00 – 11:15am > Students Shuttled To School
  • 11:30am – 3:15pm > Students Attend Class

GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION

Training Facility and Transportation Students will attend the Varsity Training Centre in conjunction with the school year from September to June with half day (morning) attendance from Monday to Thursday

Shuttle bus from Varsity Training Centre to school is provided

High Performer Qualification and Approval Requirements Playing Rep Hockey AA and AAA Require Coaches approval Previous years report card No Residency Rule (acceptance to the program will not be restricted by where you live)
