Student Spotlight on Noah Battaglia

By Maurice Tanel

Recognition of Noah Battaglia’s growth qualities AND milestone achievements

3 years ago Noah Battaglia began training with Team Shutout and we have had the good fortune of being able to work with a mature and dedicated young man who understands what it takes to put in the effort that is required to improving his skills.

When Noah (2000 birth year) came to our program he was playing at the AA level and was always committed to achieving his goal of playing junior hockey. After playing the 2016-17 season with the Toronto Predators of the Greater Metro Jr A Hockey League and winning the Rookie of the Year award , Noah was signed by the Milton Icehawks of the OJHL as the third goalie. After some very impressive starts early in the season, he has worked is way into the a starting role for his team. His performance to this point in the season was recognized throughout the Provincial Jr A loop and he has been named to the 2017 All Star Team and will be the only 2000 birth year goalie in the tournament.

Noah’s accomplishment don’t stop there. He was recently selected by the Ottawa 67’s of the OHL in a waiver draft that will provide him with greater options when making decisions regarding the OHL or NCAA route.

Noah has shown that his greatest quality is the ability to bring the awareness needed to make the changes to become better.  We are always impressed with Noah’s ability to be prepared.

Our staff are grateful for the opportunity to work with Noah and we are confident he is going to meet the challenges on the road towards his 2018-19 goals.

‘Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it & staying with that plan.’ – Tom Landry
